Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz Projects and Events

Epicenter Cycling is dedicated to supporting mountain bike advocacy efforts driven by local advocacy organization Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz (MBoSC).  Local events include...

Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival

Epicenter has proudly sponsored the Santa Cruz Mountain Bike Festival—MBoSC’s biggest fundraiser—since 2011, the festival’s first year running at its popular venue on the Barry Swenson Builder property behind Epicenter’s Aptos shop. The Aptos Pump Track—built and maintained by Epicenter—and the world renown Aptos Post Office Jumps have played a big part in the success of this family friendly two day event occurring annually in April the weekend before the Sea Otter Classic in nearby Monterey.

This year, Epicenter is thrilled to co-sponsor the 831 Jump Jam & Contest with Trek. Amateur riders show off their best moves and compete for sweet prizes, while the pros follow up with an awe-inspiring jam that leaves spectators breathless. More information on the festival can be found at www.santacruzmountainbikefestival.com.

Santa Cruz Super Enduro

Another MBoSC fundraiser, this October weekend-long event is filled with racing, riding and rad activities to enjoy with good friends. The SCSE caps off the California Enduro Series (CES) race season on the renowned trails of Soquel Demonstration State Forest with camping offered virtually on-site at Camp Loma.

Epicenter Cycling fully supports the SCSE mission which includes promoting the world class mountain biking trails in Santa Cruz County and bringing awareness to the Santa Cruz community at large about how mountain biking plays a positive role economically, socially and environmentally. More information on this enduro event can be found at www.santacruzsuperenduro.com.

Flow Trail at Demo

Epicenter Cycling is excited to recently come on board as a segment sponsor for the highly anticipated 4 mile Flow Trail at Demo. Built specifically for mountain bikes, this trail will emphasize speed and rhythm, featuring berms, rollers, jumps and other features that are designed in a way that uses the rider’s momentum to minimize pedaling and braking. This type of progressive trail allows for a wide range of skill levels, from the young (or not so young) beginner, to the downhill pro, and everyone in between. Epicenter Cycling is happy to support this extraordinary opportunity for all levels of riders to increase their skills and fully enjoy their experience on two wheels. Learn more about our adopted segment (#5) and how you can help build or fund the Flow Trail at Demo at www.mbosc.org/current-projects/4-mile-flow-trail-at-demo/.
